  6.  IF YOU HAVE 
  7. Installed OkiJet 2010 software under Windows 3.1x, and then upgraded to
  8. Windows 95; YOU MUST (REPEAT) MUST REMOVE THE ORIGINAL OkiJet 2010 WINDOWS 3.1x SOFTWARE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW OkiJet 2010 WINDOWS 95 SOFTWARE.

  10.  IF YOU HAVE 
  11. A Windows 95 system that you want to install the New OkiJet 2010 Windows 95
  12. Software then; SKIP TO THE SECTION TITLED "CREATING YOUR OkiJet 2010
  13. WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION DISK" AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

  16. !!!!INSTRUCTIONS BELOW WILL REMOVE ORIGINAL OKIJET 2010 WINDOWS 3.1x !!!!
  17. !!!!SOFTWARE FROM YOUR WINDOWS 95 SYSTEM. !!!!

  19. To remove the Original OkiJet 2010 software
  20.  
  21. 1. Make sure the OkiJet 2010 Control Program is closed:
  22. If the Control Program shows on the desktop or the task bar, maximize 
  23. the Control Program, then close it. Click Yes to verify that you want
  24. to close it.   
  25.  
  26. 2. Remove the Okidata OkiJet 2010 printer icon:
  27. a.)    Open the Printers folder from Settings on the Start menu.
  28. b.)    Select the icon labeled Okidata OkiJet 2010
  29. c.)    From the File menu, select Delete. Click Yes to verify that you want to delete them.
  30. d.)    Click yes to verifiy that you want to delete all associated files.
  31.  
  32. 3. Check that the SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI files have been modified:
  33. a.)    From the Start menu, open Run, type in "sysedit" and press
  34.         ENTER.
  35. b.)    Click on the SYSTEM.INI window.
  36. c.)    In the section marked "[386Enh]," make sure that the line "device=lexsw2.386" has been removed.
  37. d.)    In the section marked "[386Enh]," check for a line that reads ";device=*vpd".  If you have this line, remove the swmi-colon (;) from the front of the line. 
  38. e.)    From the File menu, select Save.
  39. f.)    Click on the WIN.INI window.
  40. g.)    Remove LXDBOXCP.EXE from the "run=" line if it is still there.
  41. h.)    Delete the following section if it still exists--delete each line from the title
  42.         in brackets to the blank line before the section title:
  43.     [OKIJET 2010 - Status monitor]
  44. i.)    From the File menu, select Save.
  45. j.)    From the File menu, select Exit.

  47. 4. Check that the old files have been deleted:
  48. a.)    Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, open the Windows folder.
  49. b.)    Delete the following files if they are still there:
  50.     OKI2010.INI
  51.     WWSPLMGR.INI
  52. c.)    Now open the Windows System folder and delete the following files if they are still there:
  53.     OKLXHB.DRV
  54.     OKLXHBLN.DLL
  55.     WWSPLMGR.EXE
  56.     WWDSPL.EXE
  57.     WWRASTER.DLL
  58.     WWJNLLIB.DLL
  59.     WWRSRC.DLL
  60.     OKIMAGE.BMP
  61.     OKHELP.HLP
  62.     OKI2010.WRI
  63.     BITITL_C.OUT
  64.     BITITL_K.OUT
  65.     LEXSW2.386
  66.     LXALIGN.OUT
  67.     LXCLEAN.OUT
  68.     LXDBOX00.EXE
  69.     LXDBOXCP.EXE
  70.     LXTESTP.OUT
  71.     SW2REDIR.DLL
  72.     SWCTRL.DLL
  73.     BINKLOW.WAV
  74.     CINKLOW.WAV
  75.     LPASF.WAV

  83. 5. Remove the program folders on the Start menu:
  84. a.)    Move the cursor to the Start icon on the left side of the
  85.         task bar and click the left mouse button.
  86. b.)    Mover the cursor up to the Settings item then click on the Taskbar item when it appears.
  87. c.)    Click on the Start Menu Programs tab, then on Remove.
  88. d.)    Highlight and delete the OJ2010 program.
  89. e.)    Click on the Close button, then on the Cancel button of the Taskbar Properties folder.

  91. 6. Shut down your system and turn it off:
  92. a.)    From the Start menu, click on Shut Down.
  93. b.)    Select "Shut down the computer."
  94. c.)    When the display indicates that it is safe to do so, turn
  95.         the system off.
  96. d.)    Next follow the instructions below to create and install
  97.         your OkiJet 2010 Windows 95 Software.

  100. CREATING YOUR OkiJet 2010 WINDOWS 95 INSTALLATION DISK

  102. Before Installing the OkiJet 2010 Software into Windows 95 a Driver
  103. Diskette must be created. To create an OkiJet 2010 Windows 95 Driver
  104. Diskette you will need to follow the 2 steps listed below.
  105.  
  106. Step 1. Label a blank diskette with "OkiJet 2010 Windows95 Software Support"
  107.     Please include the part number 33116702e1; please refer to this
  108.     part number when calling Okidata for technical support.
  109.     Insert the formatted 1.44MB or 1.2 MB diskette in the floppy
  110.     drive.

  112. Step 2. Go to the TaskBar in Windows 95. From the TaskBar 
  113.     select "START" then select "RUN", in the dialog box displayed
  114.     TYPE the path information you recorded earlier,
  115.     followed by \MAKEDISK. Next type a space followed by the letter
  116.     of the floppy drive in which you inserted the blank disk.
  117.  
  118. For example:
  119. C:\Windows\TEMP\MAKEDISK A:
  120.  
  121. After entering the command shown above then select "OK".

  125.  INSTALLING THE OkiJet 2010 WINDOWS 95 SOFTWARE
  126.  
  127. 1. If you have already connected and used the printer with the old
  128.    software:
  129. a.)    Open the Printers folder from Settings on the Start menu.
  130. b.)    Double-click on the Add Printer icon.
  131. c.)    Follow the instructions from the Add Printer Wizard. When
  132.         prompted to select a printer, click on "Have disk..."
  133. d.)    Click on Next, and continue to follow the installation
  134.         instructions.

  136. 2. If you have a new printer that hasn't been connected yet:
  137. a.)    Shut down the computer and turn it off.
  138. b.)    Connect your printer according to the instructions in the
  139.         Printer Manual.
  140. c.)    Start your computer. You will be prompted with "New Hardware
  141.         has been found".  Click on the OK if the "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" is highlighted.
  142. d.)    You will then be prompted to insert the "OKIDATA OkiJet 2010 Driver
  143.         Disk", insert the disk and click on OK.
  144. e.)    If your load drive path is not set to your floppy drive you will
  145.     get a message that it cannot find the disk. In the
  146.     "copy files from" box, type in the appropriate drive letter and
  147.     click on OK.
  148. f.)    When prompted for the printer name, select 
  149.         "OkiJet 2010" and click on Finish.
  150. g.)    All necessary files will then be copied to your hard drive. 
  151.     Restart Windows to complete the installation.
